What is a brand domain?

A brand domain lets you use your own subdomain for all the links you share with clients. Instead of generic links, your videos, voice memos, and other shared content will use your branded URL - like go.yourcompany.com. This keeps your brand front and center and makes your links instantly recognizable to clients.

Why set up a brand domain?

  • Brand recognition - Clients see your domain, not a third-party URL
  • Professional appearance - Branded links look more polished and trustworthy
  • Consistent experience - All your shared content stays on-brand

What uses your brand domain?

Once configured, your custom subdomain is used for:
  • Video messages you share
  • Voice memos
  • Other short URLs and shared content

How to set it up

You’ll need access to your domain’s DNS settings to add a CNAME record. This is typically managed through your domain registrar (like GoDaddy, Namecheap, or Cloudflare) or your web hosting provider.
1

Go to workspace settings

Head to your workspace settings to access the brand domain configuration.
2

Choose your subdomain

Decide what subdomain you’d like to use. We recommend go (e.g., go.yourcompany.com), but you can choose something else like links or share.
3

Open your DNS settings

Log into your domain registrar or DNS provider and navigate to your DNS settings or DNS management page.
4

Add the CNAME record

Create a new DNS record with these values:
FieldValue
TypeCNAME
Namego (or your chosen subdomain)
Valuecname.currentclient.io
TTL86400 (or “Auto” if that’s an option)
The “Name” field is just the subdomain part - enter go, not go.yourcompany.com. Your DNS provider will automatically append your domain.
5

Save and wait for propagation

Save your DNS changes. DNS propagation can take anywhere from a few minutes to 24 hours, though it’s usually pretty quick.
6

Enter your domain in CurrentClient

Back in your workspace settings, enter your brand domain (e.g., go.yourcompany.com). Click Save and then Refresh to verify the connection.

Verifying your setup

After adding the CNAME record and configuring it in CurrentClient, use the Refresh button to check verification status. If it shows “Not verified,” give it a bit more time for DNS propagation and try again.
DNS changes can take up to 24 hours to fully propagate, though most updates are visible within an hour or two.

Common DNS providers

Here’s where to find DNS settings for popular providers:
  • GoDaddy - My Products → DNS → Manage Zones
  • Namecheap - Domain List → Manage → Advanced DNS
  • Cloudflare - Select your domain → DNS → Records
  • Google Domains - My domains → DNS
  • Squarespace - Settings → Domains → DNS Settings

Troubleshooting

DNS propagation can take time. Wait 15-30 minutes and click Refresh again. If it’s still not working after a few hours, double-check that you entered the CNAME value exactly as cname.currentclient.io.
Your DNS might be managed separately from your domain registrar. Check if you’re using a service like Cloudflare, or contact your web hosting provider for help locating DNS settings.
Yes, you can use any subdomain you’d like - just update the “Name” field in your CNAME record to match. Popular choices include go, links, share, or content.
No, adding a CNAME record for a subdomain like go.yourcompany.com won’t affect your main website at yourcompany.com or www.yourcompany.com. Subdomains are independent.
